In this blog post, we will dive into the details of Wizkid’s upcoming tour and explore his career journey so far

Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, began his career in music at the age of 11 in Lagos, Nigeria. He released his first record, Lil Prinz, in 2001, in collaboration with Glorious Five, a group consisting of Balogun and his friends from church. He has since become a household name in Nigeria and has achieved international recognition for his unique sound and style.

In 2011, Wizkid released his debut solo studio album, Superstar, which was a critical and commercial success across Africa. This propelled him to stardom in his home country, and he began collaborating with various Nigerian pop acts, including OJB Jezreel, Naeto C, and Banky W.

Wizkid’s sophomore album, Ayo, was released in 2014 and featured a multitude of guest appearances, including Femi Kuti. The album included the global hit single “Ojuelegba,” which was remixed by Drake and Skepta, introducing Wizkid to the international audience.

In 2017, Wizkid signed a major deal with RCA and Sony International, which released his third LP, Sounds From the Other Side, later that year. He continued to release hit singles and refocused his energy on his Starboy imprint in Africa.

Wizkid’s fourth studio album, Made in Lagos, was released in 2020 and featured collaborations with Burna Boy, Skepta, Damian Marley, H.E.R, and Ella Mai, among others. The album made history as the highest-charting Nigerian album on the Billboard 200 and the first African album to be RIAA certified Gold in the US.
